Often we encounter Premiership Footballers, League Footballers with talent as good on a golf course as with on the pitch in a Football stadium. Many play of scratch or just above.There have been on occasion sceptics thinking that they know how to apply a sand wedge from a deep lie and have challenged the benefit to them of this work.

We have faced similar situations with jockeys and our very popular EAP (Equine Assisted Therapy) programme. Russell’s work is not about developing their prowess as golfers, though this may well result.

The majority of sportspeople through Sporting Chanc are from different disciplines, sailing, rowing, martial arts, rugby, cricket and show jumping or horse racing.Plus many more. In these instances a golf club is often an alien implement to their sport.

Frequently, with Russell’s Golf Emotional Therapy classes it is the first time they have held a club, and every man and woman who has been through his programme has been amazed at their individual progression throughout the four week, two hourly session workshop.

They might not all end up hitting hole in one’s but they all end up believing with positive thought and attitude there is a chance, and often the belief is that it may be a good chance.

Russell has an enviable ability to combine skill, knowledge and humour in transferring what is learned in the educational arena to real life, on life’s terms. I have approached Russell to support me in the development of a programme requested by two of the leading Sports science Universities in the country in exactly this work.

Being as honest as I am, I must add that Tiger was otherwise engaged! Otherwise who would have been invited to support both Russell and myself but it does appear his support is needed elsewhere.
